Born in the Philippines and raised on Staten Island from the age of five, Coach Rico Cairme has spent more than three decades turning his lifelong love of volleyball into a coaching career that spans two states. Fresh out of high school, he jumped straight from player to mentor, guiding local JV and club teams across New York City and helping young athletes master the fundamentals that first captured his own imagination.

After relocating to Florida in 2018, Rico’s passion never skipped a beat. He now brings his veteran insight—and signature calm, technical style—to Velocity 321 while still leading his Staten Island squads virtually through filmed practices, match breakdowns, and weekend clinic drop-ins. That dual-state commitment keeps him deeply connected to the broader volleyball community and sharpens the fresh ideas he shares with our players every session.
